Research on childhood risk factors for obesity has focused on energy balance, eating behaviors, physical activity, sedentary lifestyle as well as exposure to obesogenic environments (e.g., food landscapes, family norms around healthy lifestyle).
To effectively prevent or manage children and their families with impaired weight status or at increased risk of obesity there are many psychosocial challenges that should be taken into serious consideration.
